Hello World

Hello world! As I am writing this first post it does feel like I am learning to code for the first time again. However rather than sitting behind a desk learning what a Boolean Data Type is I am instead introducing myself to the world as a budding blogger and photographer. I hope many people see and read this in the year to come and I hope more so that I stick to this. I have had a go at this before under the name of outdoorlifeskillz however the z on the end never felt right... never felt professional. 


The accompanying photo is of me and my dog Bella, out for a walk along the Pembrokeshire coastal path. I think this photo is a good introduction to me and what I am like, slightly tired from camping the night before but still up for the adventure! I believe that day we walked well over 10 miles.

But that is enough of that it's now time to discuss what I am going to be bringing to the table. I have spent alot of time outdoors as a hobby and I have also worked in the outdoor industry for over 5 years. While I no longer work in this industry I would like to again, sharing my knowledge and skills through photos and videos. I would also like to get more in touch with my creative side. Being in touch with my creative side is not easy for me. I much prefer factual books to fiction and whenever i have tried to come up with anything creative before it ends up being on the strange and weird end of the spectrum. I do though believe that my photography of landscapes and animals is far more grounded and the stories that they tell and I can tell though them are worth sharing. I have made a list below of all the things that I will be doing over the coming months.

  • Blog posts on my website

  • Photography portfolio posts on my website

  • Regular instagram, X and blue sky posts as mini blogs

  • Start a facebook community page

  • Share walks and GPS trails on my patreon account along with turn by turn instructions and photos

  • Youtube reviews of the kit along with regular walking and campaign content. These will be accompanied by blogs on the website

  • TikTok and Instagram shorts of kit reviews and dog walks with my dog

  • Along with much more
